A sampling of our work — a closer look at the some of the projects we have completed.

Transition to Contemporary

Along with gutting this 3500 sq. ft. house, we added 2000 sq. ft. and removed the roof structure. Leaving only 3 original walls and 30 original floor joists, we rebuilt this century house from the ground up. We kept the traditional feel on the outside, yet created a contemporary feeling on the inside. This 4 bedroom home has radiant floor heating, a craft room, large lower recreation room, office, walk-in pantry and a beautiful exterior living area with a pool and integrated hot tub.

Minimalist Redesign

This was the third time working with this savvy, design astute client. The project involved a complete gut and structural rebuild of a three-storey, 3200 sq. ft. dwelling, inclusive of all new mechanical services. An extensive renovation in the modernist tradition with four bathrooms, a custom kitchen, self-supporting suspended white oak staircase to the 3rd floor, carefully chosen with elements of wabi sabi. We provided substantial custom millwork, new fireplaces and lots of oxford white paint.

Expanding Family Home

Working with, and for, a creative art director provided a unique and fun experience. A complete urban renovation of this three-storey home required an extensive reworking of the structural and mechanical elements in this 1920s house in Toronto’s west end. The 2400 sq. ft. living space was inclusive of new underpinning and radiant in-floor heating in the basement. The project also included a rear bedroom addition, four bathrooms, and an open-style main floor living area for a family of four.

Master Suite Renovation

This was the fourth project we had done for this young, growing family. It involved an extensive third floor gut, a small extension, and the addition of eastern facing windows and doors in a contemporary style. The master bedroom and en suite bathroom provided an opportunity to supply extensive millwork, inclusive of a custom walnut bed and built-in closet systems. We also implemented a generous walkout deck, perfect for our client's yoga practice.

A Victorian Update

An extensive re-working of a three-storey Victorian home on one of Toronto’s most popular downtown streets. The restructuring and remediation of a badly compromised and failed third floor provided the opportunity to implement an entirely new layout. It entailed a rebuild of two large bathrooms, a main floor powder room, a large main floor kitchen and dining area, the repair of the existing staircases, and new railings. With new flooring throughout we were able to bring a transitional quality to the clearly Victorian character.

Advancing an Estate Home

Important to this project was the integration of the character that this house already provided, and moulding seamless transitions between the old and new. A gutting of the main floor kitchen and the introduction of new mechanical elements helped modernize the outdated patina. The addition of white oak flooring and the painting of mismatched coffered ceilings helped lighten the home's somewhat weary heart. This was the third renovation we completed for this client.

Restoring a Modern Classic

The third time working with this client provided us with the opportunity to renovate an already celebrated home in the modernist tradition, located in the Republic of Rathnelly. It involved a complete basement renovation (including lowering, and benching), a self-contained guest suite,  a full modernized kitchen upgrade, a second floor en suite renovation, a third floor bathroom integration and a third floor deck build. Please refer to press on this project to learn more.

Main Floor Family Space Renovation

By integrating the kitchen with the dining room and removing the main wall, we were able to unify the lifestyle that this family of five was seeking. This involved a kitchen gut with the addition of custom millwork. A fireplace restoration, and an entrance staircase re-capping with new railings and flooring throughout helped unite the flow of the space. This was the second renovation for this client, the prior being a 2nd floor bathroom three years earlier.

Selection of Smaller Projects

There are many situations where clients only require a one room re-design or update. We take just as much pride in our smaller jobs as we do our complete home renovations. Whether contemporary or classic in design, we will work with you to ensure your smaller jobs are met with full satisfaction.
